2Lt William Sutton GARDNER, Royal Field Artillery attached to Royal Flying Corps, was killed in action in his aircraft on 6th March 1917 in the Arras area of France. He is buried in the Avesnes-Le-Compte Communal Cemetery, France. He is commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial, the Grammar School Roll of Honour, the Dean Close School Roll of Honour and on the grave of his parents in the Charlton Kings Cemetery. His parents, William and Harriet Gardner, resided at "Laurel House" St Georges Place, Cheltenham. |
