Notes: 1. Gardner is commemorated on the grave of his parents in Charlton Kings Cemetery and also on a commemorative plaque in the Dean Close School Chapel. 2. MacGregor was also known as Murray-MacGregor. 3. Scammell is most probably Scamell. 4. Lt I D Claughton, 11th Bn Suffolk Regt, a master at the school, was killed in action in France on 2nd March 1916, but not commemorated on the Roll of Honour. 5. Cpl Harry Clement Seates RAMC, a gardener at the school, was accidentally killed in East Africa on 29 January 1919. He is commemorated on the Chedworth (St Andrew's Church) Roll of Honour. 6.
