Dean Close School is a boarding school so the majority of its pupils were not Cheltonians.   In the following window is the alphabetical list of "Cheltonians"  (i.e. those who are commemorated on other memorials in the Cheltenham area).

Notes:

1.   Gardner is commemorated on the grave of his parents in Charlton Kings Cemetery and also on a commemorative plaque in the Dean Close School Chapel.

2.   MacGregor was also known as Murray-MacGregor.

3.   Scammell is most probably Scamell.

4.   Lt I D Claughton, 11th Bn Suffolk Regt, a master at the school, was killed in action in France on 2nd March 1916, but not commemorated on the Roll of Honour.

5.   Cpl Harry Clement Seates RAMC, a gardener at the school, was accidentally killed in East Africa on 29 January 1919.   He is commemorated on the Chedworth (St Andrew's Church) Roll of Honour.
