Cpl George CHALK, Royal Army Service Corps, is buried in Deerhurst Cemetery. He died of illness in Lewisham Military Hospital on 6th February 1919, aged 25. He is commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial. He was born in Chipstead, Surrey and left a widow, Mrs Constance Chalk, of Apperley. A photo of their wedding on 13th July 1915 is shown above. His was a taxi driver in Cheltenham before the war. |
