Gloucestershire Echo Rolls of Honour
The local newspaper, The Gloucestershire Echo, published three Rolls of Honour between 1915 and 1921. On 26th July 1915 The Echo listed "the many Cheltonians who have laid down their lives in the first year of the war". On 7th August 1916 a roll was published under the heading "Two Years' Harvest of the Great War - Cheltonians Who Have Made The Supreme Sacrifice". The final roll was published 10th February 1921 as "The Cheltenham Roll of Honour", and called upon relatives and friends of each casualty to confirm personal and service details of the casualty before inscription on the Cheltenham War Memorial. The Rolls are published in alphabetical order below.
