Battalion History

Formed as a Service battalion in August 1914 at Bristol, as part of "K1".   Full Title - 7th (Service) Battalion.  
Assigned to 39th Infantry Brigade, 13 (Western) Division. Arrived in Egypt in June 1915 then moved to Mudros in early July preparing for deployment to Cape Helles, Gallipoli.   Moved to ANZAC Cove in early August 1915.   Deployed in July 1918 as part of "Dunsterforce" (North Persia Force).   Served in Gallipoli, Egypt, Mesopotamia (Iraq) and North Persia.
Battalion was disbanded in September 1919, personnel being transferred to 8th Bn Ox & Bucks LI..
