Battalion History |
| Formed at Bristol as a Service battalion in September 1914, as part of "K3". Full Title - 9th (Service) Battalion. Assigned to 78th Infantry Brigade, 26th Division. Arrived in France on 21st September 1915. |
| Served in France and Flanders (Amiens), then departed for Salonika arriving 25th November 1915. Served at Tumba, Doiran, Doljeji, Jumeaux Ravine. Returned to France and Flanders on16th July 1918 assigned to 198th Infantry Brigade, 66th Division. Became Pioneer Battalion to 66th Division on 22nd September 1918 and served at Cambrai and The Selle. |
| Battalion was disbanded on the Rhine in November 1919. |
