In our research, Dave and I have discovered some inaccuracies and anomalies is respect of the spelling or surnames, service/regimental records, details of birth and death events and other matters in The Book, the Debt of Honour Register at the CWGC, on local war memorials and in the CD "Officers and Soldiers Who Died In The Great War".

Listed by surname in alphabetical order are these inaccuracies and our investigations.   Our aim is to resolve these inaccuracies in the fullness of time.

DoHR  -  The Debt of Honour Register at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.

IWD  -  GRO War Deaths Indices (1914 - 1921) which can be viewed here.

MIC  -  The Medal Index Card of Army personnel who served in the Great War and were entitled to campaign medals.   These cards can be seen here.

ODGW  -  The HMSO publication "Officers Died In The Great War".   Now re-published by the Naval and Military Press as ISBN 1843424223 which is also available on a searchable CD.

SDGW  -  In 1921, HMSO published an eighty volume set of books which recorded details of the soldiers who had died in the Great War, the whole work titled "Soldiers Died In The Great War".   Naval and Military Press have produced a CD, ISBN 1897632940.
