Private William Ernest FISHER, 1/4th
Battalion Wiltshire Regiment is buried in Plot N.27 in this cemetery.
He originally enlisted into the Gloucestershire Regiment before transfer to the Wiltshire Regiment. He was killed in action on 10th May 1918, aged 28, during the final advance through Palestine in 1918. He is commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial, the St John's Church War Memorial and the Cheltenham Parish Boys School Roll of Honour. His father, Mr Sidney Charles Fisher, resided at 153 Fairview Road, Cheltenham. |
